Punting Open Day to raise funds for St John
To cap off a huge week of activities and events around Christchurch, Punting on the Avon is this Sunday offering its annual Open Day fundraiser for St John.
A quintessential Christchurch experience, Punting on the Avon is available from the Antigua Boatsheds on Sunday from 9am to 5pm for a gold coin donation to the St John organisation.
Punts will run continuously, leaving the Boatsheds for a 30 minute ride through the Botanic Gardens and back. Seats are on a first-come, first-served basis.
Punting Operations at Worcester St and Mona Vale will operate as normal, the Open Day applies just to the Antigua Boatsheds location.
Last year’s Punting on the Avon Open Day raised nearly $1000 for St John.
“It’s a great opportunity to bring your loved ones/families down to the Avon for a relaxing trip through the Gardens. And it’s all for a great cause!” Punting on the Avon’s manager Wesley Golledge says.
